In Memory of Mary Kay Ratigan, BSN '82, RN

In Memory of Mary Kay Ratigan

As University of Maryland School of Nursing (UMSON) Class of 1982 alumni, we would like to ask you to join us in supporting an important cause – the creation of an endowed scholarship in memory of our classmate, Mary Kay Ratigan, who passed away suddenly on March 22, 2017.

Mary Kay was a special member of our class who had the unique gift of making everyone she was with feel appreciated. She loved nursing and enjoyed a successful career specializing in cardiology and research. She was involved with important clinical studies in the pharmaceutical industry in the therapeutic areas of cardiology, device management, vaccines, AIDS and infectious diseases. Mary Kay formed a consulting company, The MK Group, and developed CNE programs and designed medical training and education programs for nursing assistants. Mary Kay had a great appreciation for nursing education and greatly valued the education she received at the School of Nursing.

The Mary Kay Ratigan Endowed Memorial Scholarship* would provide much needed financial assistance to future UMSON students. Establishing an endowed scholarship means that the funds raised will exist in perpetuity and will create a lasting way to honor Mary Kay's memory and her impact on nursing and nursing education.

Please consider joining us in contributing to the future of nursing education by making a gift to Mary Kay's scholarship. You will be honoring the memory of a fellow alumna, nurse, and friend, while making a difference in the educational career of UMSON students. We hope that you will remember Mary Kay and the positive influence she had on all who knew her by making your gift today.

Thank you for your consideration.
