Help KVR celebrate her retirement!
Farewell to Kathryn Von Rueden
Kathryn Von Rueden is retiring after serving on the University of Maryland School of Nursing (UMSON) faculty for 15 years.
KVR (as she is affectionately called by friends and colleagues) has had an impressive career - she was one of the original Trauma Critical Care faculty at UMSON, leaving in 1990 to hold other positions such as Clinical Nurse Specialist at the R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center and Director of Professional Development and Director of Quality at Anne Arundel Medical Center. In 2005, she returned to UMSON, where she is currently an Associate Professor and the Interim Specialty Director of the Adult-Gerontology Clinical Nurse Specialist/Acute Care Nurse Practitioner Program, Trauma/Critical Care Specialty. She has won numerous awards throughout her career; most recently, she was awarded the Circle of Excellence Award from the American Association of Critical Care Nurses. KVR is particularly proud of being the recipient of the student-nominated 2014 Award for Excellence in Graduate Teaching at UMSON.
Honor KVR with a gift to TCC!
To celebrate KVR and her steadfast commitment to UMSON and trauma critical care nursing we are encouraging gifts made in her honor to the Patricia Gonce Morton Trauma Critical Care Fund which provides support for faculty and students in the Trauma Critical Care specialty.
Your gift will not only make a difference to future UMSON students, it will also show the appreciation that faculty, staff, students, and alumni have for KVR on the occasion of her retirement.
